Beautifully crafted silver fish hook pendant is made with solid Hawaiian koa, which is a exotic wood that originates from the Big Island of Hawai'i. Different parts of the island yields a distinctive hue to the color of the wood. The beautiful colors ranges from yellow or greenish-yellow, through orange, brown, and red, to almost black, and hues of different colors can be derived from a single trunk. In the Hawaiian language "koa" means "warrior" which symbolizes strength, fearlessness and bravery. From the ancient Hawaiian outrigger canoes to the birth of the first ancient surfboards and ukulele, the koa wood deserves more than ever be a widely recognized as a symbol of prestige and coloring.
The meaning behind the fish hook represents strength, prosperity, abundance, and a great respect for the sea. Today, fish hooks (‘Makau’ in Hawaiian) perpetuate the Hawaiian way of life through contemporary jewelry. The necklace becomes a sacred link between people, spanning time and distance. Hawaiian tradition says that fish hooks provide good luck when fishing and safe journey when traveling.
The silver parts of this fish hook are hand engraved whic symbolizes the flowing waves, the sacred maile leaves, (which represents trust and happiness) which shows Hawaii's abundance of natural beauty.
Stainless steel chain is also included and different length are available. Please select the desired length from the drop down menu. Stainless steel will not change color and it is also hypoallergenic which means it is safe for all skin types.

All U.S. orders ship free by FedEx 2-Day (no P.O. boxes). Orders shipping within Hawaii go by USPS Priority Mail. In-stock items ship within 1-3 business days from the time they are placed. If there are any expected delays, we’ll notify you right away.
Please note that selecting our engraving service may add an additional business day to your order's preparation time.
Our handmade Hawaiian jewelry,including sterling silver, platinum, and solid gold rings, is made to order. The production time for each piece is shown on its product page. Orders with multiple items or custom features such as stone settings or engraved messages may require more time. If you’ve discussed customizations with our team, please allow for a longer production window.
Keep in mind that Saturdays and Sundays are not considered business days.
All of our gold, silver and platinum jewelry is handcrafted to order in Honolulu, Hawaii. Because we don’t keep a ready stock, pieces ordered midweek (such as on Wednesday) are not eligible for Saturday delivery.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
Exchanges: Within 60 days of delivery, you can exchange your ring for another size or style, up to two times. Tungsten, titanium, ceramic and zirconium rings without engraving can be exchanged directly for a new size. Solid gold, sterling silver and platinum rings are resized instead; fees may apply beyond half a size and for stone-set, two-tone or tri-tone rings. We send you a prepaid USPS Ground label for $9 to ship your ring to us, and shipping the new ring back to you is $15 by FedEx 2-Day.
Returns: Unworn items in original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund to your original payment method. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and a 15% restocking fee applies to solid gold and platinum.
